Who We Are
The Teen Parents Support Programme (TPSP) is a support service for young mothers, young fathers and their families. The Programme was established in 2000 and provides a range of supports to young people who become parents when they are 19 and under. These supports are available from TPSP during pregnancy and up until your child is 2 years of age. The service is city based, situated on the grounds of University Hospital Galway and is managed by the Social Work Department.
The service is free and confidential and is available to all young parents, of any nationality, background or culture, living in Galway City and County.

Our Team
Our team is made up of Project Leader Monica Meaney and Project Workers Anita Glynn and Anne Blaine. We have been working with young parents since the programme started in 2000 and our focus is to promote and enhance the well-being of young parents and their children.
We are Social Care professionals and we offer a non-judgemental comprehensive service to suit your needs. Between us, we have a wealth of experience in parenting, child development, relationships, health/wellbeing, child care, education and training, benefits and entitlements.
How We Work
You may hear about us when you come for your first antenatal clinic appointment in the University Hospital Galway or Portiuncula Hospital Ballinasloe, but you can make contact yourself before then by phone, text or email.
When we receive your contact details, we will send you an Information Pack and to follow this up, we will give you a call to introduce ourselves and the service. One of our project workers will arrange a time to meet with you. This can be in the hospital (following an antenatal appointment), in your home, or another location of your choice.
You can meet the project worker on your own, as a couple, with a member of your family or with anyone who is supporting you. When you meet with any of the TPSP staff you can discuss your concerns and needs and we will do our best to support you in whatever way possible.
